We have all been wondering what the mysterious fiance of the accused "Craigslist Killer" Philip Markoff has been doing during this messy investigation, well we finally got news!
The lawyer for Megan McAllister told ABC's "Good Morning America" Thursday that his client's planned August wedding to 23-year-old Markoff "will not occur" and is not likely to happen at any time in the future.
McAllister, accompanied by her mother and Honecker, met with Markoff in jail for about 25 minutes on Wednesday. She did not appear to be wearing an engagement
ring and wouldn't talk to the media.
Markoff is in jail for allegedly using Craigslist to lure women selling erotic services to hotel rooms, then robbing them at gunpoint to feed a gambling habit. He is charged with killing one of the women, 25-year-old New York City masseuse Julissa Brisman, on April 14 when she fought back. He is also accused of robbing another masseuse four days earlier at a different hotel in Boston. Lastly, the third attack he was suspected in occured in Rhode Island on a Las Vegas stripper, who was tied up in a hotel room by a man she met on Craigslist but got away when her husband came in.
The longer Markoff is in jail the more evidence from the investigation keeps getting stacked against him. The fingerprints and security videos lead investigators to believe he is responsible for all 3 attacks, although he continues to plead 'not guilty.'
"What has been portrayed and leaked to the media is not the Philip Markoff that I know. To me and my family, he is a loving and caring person," McAllister said a week ago in a press release statement.
She also asked this week that her fiancé's fate not be determined by the press and public opinion.
Poor Megan... we really do sympathize with her. She seems like a bright girl however, many of us know that when you are in love nothing makes sense anymore. I am sure Lacey Peterson thought the same thing as her "loving and loyal" husband killed her and their unborn child on his boat.
Get out while you can, Megan... Think of his jail time as your freedom!

Child dies in Houston from Swine Flu
By Jessica Gogan mailto:jdg027@shsu.edu
Unfortunately, the growing Swine Flu epidemic has reached Texas. The first US confirmed victim was a 23 month-old who got symptoms while visiting his family in Brownsville, Texas. He was from Matamoros, Mexico.
Texas Governor Rick Perry issued a disaster proclamation with 16 confirmed cases of swine flu in the state this morning. Perry and other Texas officials have also ordered that all high schools in the state put a half to sports.
The disease has spread from Europe to Mexico, 159 of the deaths being in Mexico. According to the World Health Organisation, 2,498 people are currently infected there.
President Obama responded to the crisis by saying, "we are closely and continuously monitoring the emergent cases of this virus throughout the United States. This is obviously a serious situation. Serious enough to take the utmost precautions."
An utmost precaution would be to shut down the border for the time being. The President needs to stop worrying about being "politically-correct" and take the more obvious actions to stop the spreading of this deadly disease. Rick Perry also added that doing so now would be "a little premature," though the closing of the US border is still an option. With Texas being so close to Mexico, the place holding the most Swine-Flu victims, many Texas residents can already forsee the situation getting out of control. I know I do.
Today when I make my weekly Wal-mart visit I will be picking up extra hand sanitizer. I will most certainly be using it on everything now.
